I would give Spitz Law, The Employee's Law Firm, a minus 10 or more if I could. I was referred by them from another firm. I saw where they had a bad review on the BBB and a few other places, but it was hard to find reviews on them. Apparently, it is similar to a franchise. I called a few times, but the only information I could get was you need to fill out our forms before we talk to you. I tried to find out if they could handle my case first before I ended up wasting over 6 hours of my time filling out their forms which we the same questions answered over and over, for a current employee, etc. It was ridiculous. They wanted me to download all of my information which would have been over a 1k pages. Again, ridiculous. The attorney was over 15 minutes late calling me. When I told him what my problems were, he said we don't handle that aspect, retiree or benefits. I said that is strange because you are advertise as "employee's law firm". He said I needed a civil attorney. I told him I was told I needed an employment and/or ERISA attorney. So again, I wasted my time and all he good say was sorry, I can't help you or refer you to anyone. He said I would advise you not to waste your time. The attorney I spoke with was Carlos Jeffs. Update to response. I had the time correct. I was looking at my phone at the time of the call. I had called several times to ask if they could handle my case and all I got from the receptionist was you have to fill out the forms or we will not respond. I looked on their website and it stated they handled cases like mine. Carlos Jeffs said I should have been told they did not handle my case. He was incorrect in his response on everything he replied. If he had checked the reviews, he would have seen they have bad reviews and even a bad review on the BBB site. Again, I would never advise anyone to this practice.

Contacted this firm for a workplace issue on a few unlawful things. The attorney (Tom Judd) appeared knowledgeable and gave a good initial consultation. No issues there. The problem is the firm accepted the case based on our discussion. I was advised they would contact my employer to advise they were representing me. {I signed the representation contract with them) and not to speak to anyone from work. Two weeks into this "representation" I had a horrific accident when I lost consciousness while driving due to a medical seizure. Nothing should have changed the representation from Spitz. However, Tom Judd advised "do short term disability while you recover, and we can go back to the case afterwards." I advised the accident did not change my plan of action, and we could continue accordingly. I then received an email, claiming I had no case after further review. Tom Judd refused all calls afterwards. I emailed Brian Spitz who chose not to respond as well. I was cordial and not angry, but like the other person in these reviews, they wasted my valuable time, and out of simple professionalism, did not advise what changed after my accident. I have zero idea what the issue is or was. I could have used the 2-3 weeks and the energy to obtain an attorney that actually wanted to assist. It is just fine if they changed their mind, but why consult me under false pretenses and instruct me to take certain actions, and when I do, they disappear without reason, breaking the contract signed for representation purpose. Unethical, unacceptable and unfortunate to say the least.

Reached out to this law firm on a discrimination case. They assigned me a lawyer that sounded like he had just graduated from law school a day ago. He could not propose any alternative solutions to my case. When I tried to call back to speak with a different person, they wouldn't allow it. VERY DISAPPOINTING experience with them.
